A Times Newspaper ‘Pick Of The Fringe’ and a fringe ‘Must See’ in the Edinburgh Evening News, ‘Torsten The Bareback Saint’ – a highlight of this year’s Edinburgh International Fringe Festival -heads to the Boscombe Fringe Festival for a very special one-off show in the home town of its creator. This one-man theatrical song-cycle delivers musical postcards from the hotspots of his memory as a learned, semi-immortal sensualist. Consequently, it’s been an unnaturally elongated life – so, is Torsten alive or dead; a carnal incarnate or munificent saint? Lovers and friends age and die and ultimately Torsten must leave them to avoid the disquiet of them witnessing that he himself does not age. Torsten sings deeply affecting expositional songs that incrementally illuminate the extraordinarily mysterious life of a man disconcerted by his own bizarre experience of the nature of passing time.
